International Read Comics In Public Day 2011 Returns on August 28

The second-annual International Read Comics in Public Day event is coming up in just a few short weeks, meaning it’s a fine time to start mulling over the goodness you’d like to show off to the world both in real life and on social media on Sunday, August 28. Started by The Daily Crosshatch editors Brian Heater and Sarah Morean as a simple means of winning over the hearts, minds and dollars of the non-comics reading masses, Read Comics in Public Day is a time for fans to advocate for their medium of choice by plopping down in a public space with a cool comic. If you live in a ghost town or have crippling seasonal allergies, have no fear. You can also share a quick photo of yourself reading a comic or graphic novel via social media to get the attention of your friends/family/foes.

Hey this is the day I move into my dorm. Which is after the day I plan to spend traversing around NY for art supplies and - wait for it - comics. 

So I’ll have new ones to read. My roommates better like comics or they won’t like this very much.
