i feel it the other way around: for me its annoying and mean to delete it when the comment of the artist is relevant, like a explanation of themeaning of the piece, but if its just the example you gave i see no inconvenient in erasing it. idk

even if you dont find it inconvenient in taking off a small comment so you do it, but the example i gave is still relevant, whether you think so or not. its not like an example about a comment going on about the artist’s breakfast (which, if i ever go on about my breakfast in a comment, by all means take it off if you hate an adjacent comment about breakfast foods)
but itsnot really what you meant by it, or what you think about the comment, its the action itself. its a silencing action which i tend to be very uncomfortable with and when you apply that silencing action to something as small as “i like such and such character” it can be even more potent, sometimes, than erasing a longer comment that you might feel was “more relevant”
all of you who think that art should only exist within itself with no outside context, im sorry, but i dont get it. the context is half the fun.

but removing artists’ comments in general aside (because i have feelings about that topic and not all coincide neatly), i feel like its twice as annoying when the entirety of the comment that ends up being removed is literally something like “i wanted to draw (name of character)!” … and thats it

Yeah man! And the customers, in my experience, are pretty nice and if they do turn out to be shit, you only have to deal with them for like three minutes! (As opposed to a restaurant or whatever, I’d imagine.) And you get t-shirtssszzzzz. :)
most of the places i’d be working at id have to deal with shitty people at one point or another because the only places around here that would hire a young, experienceless kid are service oriented
